Elections

Below is the list of nominees, along with a short blurb about each (if provided by the candidate)

Nominees

President | Vice President | Secretary | Technical Resource Officer | Event Coordinator | Historian

President

  • Imran Merali
    • Ever since the fall of 2003, WCPR has been a part of my life. It all began with a desire to be on the microphone (which manifested as a morning show – I still don’t know why I did that), but eventually grew to include mobile unit, working on the auto-dj and live stream as systems administrator, and working as studio engineer. It was about so much more than running a show, or tinkering with broadcast technology though. It was about the community that formed around WCPR. The team efforts to renovate the studio. The efforts to increase engagement with the community on, and off campus (advertising spots anyone?). The all-hands-on-deck efforts to pull off large scale campus events (WCPR, O Pi, and the Lodge present…BATTLE OF THE BANDS!). These are experiences that I wouldn’t have traded for anything in the world. WCPR is above all else a community. In my capacity as an officer of the WCPR Alumni Association, I hope to continue to sustain and grow that community.

Vice President

  • Nicholas Barresi
    • I have always been passionate about WCPR ever since I joined the second week of my Freshman year. I have met so many wonderful people through staying connected to WCPR over the years through various Alumni reunions and truly understand the importance of this shared connection we all have. I have been a part of this association since its creation, and I cannot wait to see where we will all go, and all of the new friends we will make along way as we go onwards and upwards with maximum music!
  • Keith B. Cassidy
    • I’m passionate about WCPR and keeping the alumni connecting and finding ways to stay engaged with the current students as well as they are the future of our organization. During my time at Stevens I was the System Administrator and Business Manager for WCPR. After graduating I was one of the founding members of the WCPR alumni association and am excited about seeing where our organization will go!

  • Matt Keyser
    • My memories from WCPR are some of the best ones I have from my time at Stevens, and I hope to keep the spirit of the station alive by taking an active role in the WAA. While a WCPR member, I held the positions of General Manager and Program Manager. As part of WAA I’ve held the positions of Historian (previous) and Webmaster (current). I currently am on the board of DEF CON 610 in Easton, PA where I organize meetings and herd cats. I also run a small Red Team at AT&T, where I teach different cats to break into things with permission.

Technical Resource Officer

  • Patrick MacLane
  • Spencer Morasch
    • As Technical Resource Officer (TRO), I will use my experience gained from both my many years of experience at WCPR since 1974, as well as through my network of close friends who have been active in radio for many years, including those in broadcast radio engineering. I will offer this technical experience to the current student members of WCPR while in this role as TRO, which the bylaws outlines as it’s primary duty; “The TRO shall be responsible for advising station members regarding technical matters of station operations when requested”. I will also tap into the knowledge from Paul Rea, who most recently has served as TRO.
